• Payment records: transaction history (we do not store card or mobile money numbers — see Section 4)

We use your information to:

• Connect you with healthcare professionals and facilitate video consultations
• Process appointment bookings and payments
• Send appointment confirmations, reminders, and status updates
• Improve and personalise the HabeshaDoctors platform
• Respond to your enquiries and provide customer support
• Comply with applicable legal obligations

3. Video Consultations

Video calls are powered by Daily.co, a secure video infrastructure provider. HabeshaDoctors does not record or store your video consultations. Daily.co may process technical data to deliver the video service — please review Daily.co's Privacy Policy for their data handling practices.

4. Payment Information

Payments are processed through Flutterwave (and Stripe in future). We do not store your credit card numbers, debit card numbers, or mobile money account numbers. All payment processing is handled securely by our payment partners. Please refer to the Flutterwave and Stripe Privacy Policies for details on how payment data is handled.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We only share your data in these circumstances:

• With your doctor or patient: the healthcare professional you consult can see your name and appointment details, and vice versa
• With payment processors: Flutterwave and Stripe receive only the minimum data needed to process your payment
• As required by law: we may disclose information when required by a court order or applicable law

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Firebase (Google Cloud), hosted in secure data centres with encryption in transit and at rest. We enforce strict access controls so each user can only access their own information. No system is 100% secure — if you suspect unauthorised access, contact us immediately.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies only — these are necessary for authentication and keeping you signed in during your session. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• View the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Request deletion of your personal data
• Withdraw consent for data processing at any time

9. Children's Privacy

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active, or until you request deletion. Consultation records are retained for 7 years in line with standard medical record-keeping requirements. After this period, records are securely deleted.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the platform. Continued use of HabeshaDoctors after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
